Elaine learned to sail at the age of 25 at the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School in Maine.  She has sailed in Maine, Cape Cod, Chesapeake Bay, Virgin Islands and California.  Elaine is the Managing Editor of BoatU.S. Magazine and Director of State Affairs where she has worked on boating and safety issues during her 17-year tenure with the association.  Elaine is a frequent spokesperson on boating issues on radio, television and in the print media.
