Gail came to sailing later in life, having purchased her first boat, a Newport 20,  in 1969.  With a passion for racing, Gail bought her next and current boat, a 24' racing sloop.  Gail has been a leading force in promoting women's sailing for nearly 30 years.  She has spearheaded the SCYA Women's Sailing Committee for the past 17 years.  She conceived, created and organized all 17 of the annual SCYA Women's Sailing Conventions, which have received national awareness.  In 1998, she served as commodore of the SCYA.  In 2001 Gail was the recipient of the Leadership in Women's Sailing Award, co-sponsored by NWSA and BoatUS. Gail owns her own advertising and graphic design business,  TeamWay Marketing and Design, in Murrieta, CA.  She joined the board of NWSA in 2001.
