NWSA President from 2004-2008, Valli has been sailing for about 25 years.  She has participated in several race weeks and blue water sailing in the Caribbean. When sailing in local waters, Val usually can be seen on a small sloop on the Hudson River.  She has been a part of several boat deliveries, a number from the NY Harbor to Long Island’s Mystic, Connecticut;

 a two week challenge which delivered a 37ft Cabo Rico from Charlevoix, Michigan to Rochester, New York; and a more recent delivery, a 42ft Hylas, with a crew of four women which sailed from Honolulu to San Diego.

 As co-coordinator of the AdventureSail® program, Val has worked with the Board to introduce thousands of young girls to the challenge and experience of sailing.  AdventureSail® programs have been held in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and New York.

 Val was one of the boat leader’s on NWSA’s first Women’s Flotilla in the BVI. Val coordinated the NWSA sail in Whitsunday, Australia.  A strong advocate for women to Take the Helm, Val has skippered boats in Southwest Harbor, Maine; the Caribbean and its many islands and Tahiti
