Valli Cook, NWSA President , has been sailing for about 20 years. She
started as crew on a 51-foot Swan.
The owner and captain sailed on the Long Island Sound.
Val’s formal sailing lessons were with Offshore Sailing School.
She continues to be a member of the Offshore Sailing Club based in
Liberty Landing, New Jersey.
Val has been a part of boat deliveries from the NY Harbor to Long
Island's Mystic Connecticut. She was part of a two-week challenge which
delivered a 37-foot Cabo Rico from Charlevoix, Michigan, to Rochester, New
York. As co-coordinator of the AdventureSail® program,
an NWSA project that introduces sailing to young girls at risk, Val has
word to introduce almost 500 young girls in the New York area to the
challenges of sailing.
