The sun shone brightly on Corinthian Yacht Club where the women were deeply engrossed in 5 workshops being conducted simultaneously.  A the same time, other women were on the water in 4 Sonars and 1 Rhodes 19  for sail trim sessions.  Also on the water in a Catalina 38, a Pearson 30 and a Robinhood 36 were 16 more women practicing Man OverBoard drills.

The lunchtime bell meant pick up your box lunch and head for the pool where Charles Daneko gave an in-water demonstration of the Winslow LifeRaft.  Board Member Susan Epstein volunteered to "step into" the deployed life raft.  Easy, but what about if you were in the water?  Susan gingerly slipped over the side to demonstrate how to get back in.  Not quite as easy.  Many more questions took up the period and then back for 3 more hours of various classes.

Dinner was followed by a superb array of raffle items given generously by a number of sponsors.  Ooohs and aahs filled the room as co-chair and sponsorship chairman Sue Corl described the offering.  Finally, the evening concluded with a powerpoint presentation by Katherine O'Connell, of Charlestown, MA, on the 2000-2002 BT Global Challenge.  The BT Challenge is a round-the-world 30,000 mile race the wrong way.  One could certainly put the event into the extreme category of sailing!
