Conference Recap
The 2025 National Women's Sailing Conference, presented by American Sailing, marked an exciting milestone as our first-ever three-day event! Held at the University of South Florida - St. Petersburg, this year's conference brought together passionate women sailors, instructors, and newcomers from across the country. The energy was electric as 137 women connected, shared stories, and supported each other in their sailing journeys. Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, volunteers, and partners, we built an inspiring community that continues to grow and thrive.
Three Days of Sailing Education - On and Off the Water
Across three packed days, participants took part in hands-on education both on the docks and in the classroom. The program was designed for all skill levels, creating a supportive environment for women to expand their confidence, skills, and knowledge, while building lasting connections with peers and mentors.
We had 24 Classroom classes
Off-the-water workshops included navigation, safety, leadership, marine technology, and career pathways in the maritime industry.
We taught 15 classes on the water
With a combination of volunteers and Sponsors providing boats, there were 8 sailboats and 5 dinghies for lessons. On-the-water sessions offered everything from beginner sailing and docking practice to advanced sail trim, racing strategy, and powerboat handling.

AdventureSail
& Giving Back
A special highlight of this year's event was our fundraising success for AdventureSail - a program that introduces girls from underserved communities to the life-changing experience of sailing, entirely free of charge. Through raffles, silent auctions, and generous donations, we raised over $5,500! These are critical funds that will allow us to continue expanding the AdventureSail program reach and impact. Thanks to everyone who gave so generously to help the next generation of girls find empowerment and confidence on the water.
